From the Lead Pastors
Forty-five years ago, twelve people met in a living room in Northeast Albuquerque to ask one question: what if the church looked like the city it was sent to? That question started Believer Church, and it’s still the one we’re asking today.
We’re David and Jordan Eiffert, the lead pastors here. David grew up in this church and started in vocational ministry as our youth pastor. Jordan came up through service and special events. Between us we’ve spent more than forty years in this building, and we still believe the most exciting thing about Believer Church is what’s ahead.
Our prayer is that whoever you are and whatever you’re carrying, you’d find a seat saved for you when you walk in. We hope you’ll come find us.

Forty-five years and counting
Our Story
Believer Church was founded in 1980, when Marshall and Cindi Townsley gathered twelve people in a living room in Northeast Albuquerque. From the beginning, they emphasized the grace of God and invited people to rest in his unchanging character, and that emphasis still marks everything we teach. What started as a handful of people grew into a congregation, a building on Waterfall Drive in the Southeast Heights, and more than four decades of Sundays.
For most of its history the church was known as Believers Center of Albuquerque. As leadership passed to a new generation, the church took the name Believer Church, a simpler way of saying the same thing we have always been: people who believe Jesus and follow him together. The name changed. The mission never did.
Today the church is led by David and Jordan Eiffert. David grew up in this church and began vocational ministry as its youth pastor. Jordan came up through service and special events. They carry a legacy they were handed personally, from pastors who are still part of the church family and still lead us in prayer at Pray First each month.
We gather on Sundays at 10 AM and Tuesdays at 7 PM at 320 Waterfall Dr SE, and through the week our people meet in small groups in homes across the metro, serve the city through LoveABQ, and walk out freedom together in BC Recovery.
Who We Serve
Believer Church is a multigenerational family. On any Sunday you will find babies in the nursery, kids in BC Kids, mid schoolers in their own service, students who come back on Tuesday nights for BC Youth, young adults navigating first jobs and big questions, parents, singles, and folks who have been part of this church for forty years.
We serve families raising kids, students figuring out what they believe, adults looking for real community, people walking out recovery from addiction and old wounds, and anyone in Albuquerque who is curious about Jesus but not sure about church. You do not need a background in church to belong here. Plenty of us did not have one either.
How We Serve Albuquerque
Our slogan is a to-do list. Through LoveABQ, our city outreach ministry, we show up around four pain points in Albuquerque: poverty, homelessness, addiction, and human trafficking. That looks like food bags at every service, weekend food bags for students through Feed New Mexico Kids, a Thanksgiving meal box drive-thru each November, Christmas gifts for families facing hardship, and mobile teams that take food, hygiene kits, and prayer directly to people living on the street.
Inside our walls, BC Recovery offers a free, Christ-centered path to freedom from addiction, anxiety, grief, and trauma. Small groups meet in homes across the metro so nobody has to do faith alone, and our prayer team prays with anyone who asks, after every service and any time in between.
Beyond Albuquerque, we financially support global partners doing the work of the gospel from Los Angeles to Thailand and Romania, because a church placed in one city can still care about the whole world.
Our Commitments

Jesus is at the center of who we are. Not religion, not tradition, not an institution. He is not a means to an end. He is the end. We are unapologetically Jesus-first people, and we hold everything we do up against one question: does this look like Jesus?

Love is our first step toward all people. Not love as a feeling, but love as a culture. It is what makes a church a church. There is nothing higher and nothing deeper. We start with the simple truth that everyone is already loved by God, and we love God, each other, and Albuquerque with the same reckless, unconditional love Jesus showed us.

We speak the truth, and we speak it with grace: both, always, together. We won’t trade conviction for comfort or kindness for spinelessness. We don’t look to culture to tell us how to see people. We look to the cross. Not truth without grace or grace without truth. Both. The way Jesus held them.

We exist to bring light to Albuquerque. We didn’t end up here by accident. We were placed in this city by God, for this city. We see the poverty, the homelessness, the addiction, and we don’t look away. We want to be a church this city recognizes as a help, whether or not they believe in God. Because a church that truly loves Jesus will always end up loving the city Jesus died for.

Generosity is a way of life for us. Not a religious obligation, but the natural response of people who have received everything. We give our time, our money, and ourselves freely, because Jesus gave everything first. We hold what we have with open hands, knowing none of it was ours to begin with. A generous God makes a generous people.

We are a real family. A diverse family of spiritual fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters. Not a club for people who already have it together. Everyone belongs here. You don’t have to be perfect, polished, or put together to be one of us. We are imperfect people learning to become more like Jesus, and we are doing it together, because that’s what families do.
