BC Youth at Believer Church in Albuquerque

Tuesdays at 7 PM

BC Youth.

Mid + High School

Faith. Friendship. Purpose.

BCY is where young hearts and minds unite to grow in faith, friendship, and purpose. Through messages and heartfelt worship, we explore what it means to follow Jesus together.

Middle school and high school are loud years. Students get handed opinions about identity, anxiety, relationships, and faith faster than anyone can sort through them. BC Youth is a weekly place to slow down, ask the honest question, and get an honest answer from an adult who is not grading them.

Tuesday nights at 7 PM are for middle and high schoolers together: worship, a message built for where students actually live, and time to connect instead of just listening. Sunday mornings, BC Mid School has its own service with games, a lesson, small groups, and basketball.

Bring a friend. Nobody gets singled out, nobody gets put on the spot, and no student needs to know anything about the Bible to walk in.

Safety

Who is with your student.

Before anyone serves with students at Believer Church, they clear the same bar: a background check, two references, and membership at this church in good standing. That holds for every leader in the room, on a Tuesday night and on a Sunday morning, and it holds on a week we happen to be short-handed.

You are handing us a teenager for a couple of hours a week. We would rather tell you how that works than let you guess at it. Ask a youth leader anything, or call the office at (505) 292-5082.

Student and parent questions

When does BC Youth meet?

Tuesday nights at 7 PM for middle school and high school students together. On Sunday mornings, BC Mid School has its own service: students join the main room for worship, then dismiss to the youth room.

What happens on a Tuesday night?

Worship, a message aimed at what students are actually dealing with, and time to connect with each other and with leaders. It is a real service, not a holding room while the adults meet.

What is Sunday morning Mid School like?

Games, a lesson built for middle schoolers, small groups, basketball, and leaders who care about each student by name. It runs during the 10 AM service after worship in the main room.

My student does not know anyone. Will they be okay?

That describes most first-timers. Leaders watch for students walking in alone and get them connected before the night starts. Bringing a friend along makes it easier, and friends are always welcome.

Do parents need to stay?

No. Tuesday night youth runs at the same time as the adult Bible study and BC Kids, so most families come together and split up for the evening. You are welcome to stay if you would rather.

Who is allowed to lead my student?

Every youth leader completes a background check, provides two references, and is a member of Believer Church in good standing before they serve with students. We do not make exceptions to that when we are short on volunteers.

Does my student need to know anything about the Bible first?

Not a thing. Students come in from every background, including none at all. Nobody gets singled out or put on the spot for not knowing an answer.

How do I get in touch with the youth team?

Follow @bcyouthabq on Instagram for what is coming up, or contact the church at (505) 292-5082 or through the contact page and we will connect you with the youth team.
