Kids matter now, not someday.

Ages 0-12

Where kids belong.

BC Kids is a vibrant and engaging ministry for ages 0-12. All of our activities are tailored for each age group. We combine teaching, worship, and play to help kids encounter Jesus in a way they can understand and enjoy.

We do not treat kids ministry as childcare while the adults do the real thing. Kids matter now, not someday. So the teaching is the Bible, not a watered down version of it, and it comes from volunteers who show up week after week and learn your child’s name.

Every environment is built for the age in it. Nursery is calm and hands-on for the 0-2 crowd, with a nursing mothers room close by. Preschool moves between story, song, and play. Elementary adds real discussion, because six to twelve year olds ask harder questions than most adults expect.

BC Kids meets during both weekly services, Sundays at 10 AM and Tuesdays at 7 PM. Check in at the BC Kids area when you arrive, and a host will walk you through it the first time.

Safety

Who is with your kids.

Before anyone serves in a room with children at Believer Church, they clear the same bar: a background check, two references, and membership at this church in good standing.

There are no exceptions to that, including on a week we happen to be short-handed. A volunteer who has not finished the process does not serve in BC Kids.

That part of a Sunday is not visible from the hallway, so we would rather say it plainly than let you wonder. If you have any other question about how we care for your kids, ask a BC Kids leader at check-in or call the office at (505) 292-5082. You will get a straight answer.

Parent questions

When does BC Kids meet?

Sundays at 10 AM and Tuesdays at 7 PM, at the same time as the main services, so parents can be in the room and kids can be in an environment built for them.

What ages do you serve?

Ages 0 through 12, split into three environments: nursery for 0-2, preschool for ages 3-5, and elementary for ages 6-12. Each one has its own room, its own leaders, and teaching pitched at that age.

How early should we arrive?

Ten to fifteen minutes before service. That gives you time to check your kids in without rushing and get to a seat before it starts.

Where do we go when we get there?

Head for the main entrance off Waterfall Drive. Hosts are at the doors and will walk you to BC Kids check-in, point out restrooms and coffee, and help you find a seat afterward. You do not have to figure it out on your own.

What about nursing mothers and babies?

The nursery cares for children 0-2 and there is a dedicated nursing mothers room on campus, so you never have to choose between feeding your baby and being in service.

What will my child actually learn?

The Bible, taught at the level of the room. Preschool gets story, song, and play. Elementary adds discussion and the kinds of questions kids really ask. We combine teaching, worship, and play so kids meet Jesus in a way they can understand and enjoy, not just sit through.

Who is allowed to work with my child?

Every BC Kids volunteer completes a background check, provides two references, and is a member of Believer Church in good standing before they serve with children. We do not make exceptions to that when we are short on volunteers.

Can I stay with my child the first time?

Yes. If your child is nervous walking into a new room, you are welcome to stay with them until they are settled. Nobody is going to rush you.

Who do I talk to before we come?

Call the front desk at (505) 292-5082, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, or send a message through the contact page. A real person reads every message and replies within one business day.
